to.click

to.click is a fast and efficient URL shortener with a powerful link management toolset for creating and managing customized links, tracking, and analyzing their performance.

Context

We have initiated the project with my coworkers. The hypothesis to be tested was that the URL shorteners available at the time were too costly and complicated for set-up to individual needs. We have decided to create a new service for managing links that would be easy to use, that would provide the needed functionality for individual and business users.

After initial customer development, we have identified our target demographic as people involved in managing marketing communication between brands and end-users. These range from corporate or small business marketers, owners of small businesses and startups, and bloggers. Their typical activity in the service is related to social media posting and promotion. The typical goal is to brand the link and track clicks data, manage, and monetize traffic.

My Role

As one of the co-founders, I've been involved in hands-on product ideation, development, roadmap planning, graphic and marketing design. Together with the team, we have implemented the core functionality of the MVP. In March 2019 I left the project to focus on other personal goals.

Core Features

Management, Personalisation

Users get access to the personal account where they can manage their links. They can connect their domain, edit the target URL, change privacy settings. Alternatively to the link address, each URL can be accessed via a dedicated QR code generated by the service.

Analytics

The service provides key metrics about each URL: number of clicks, sources, countries. The users have access to a dashboard with the total stats for all links and check individual stats for each URL. The service is also compatible with third-party analytics tools.

Traffic Management

Users can adjust targeting settings and deep links to manage traffic, add pixels for conversion optimization and retargeting, target various mobile platforms, create fall-backs.

API

API integration is available for the automation of data export, mass creation, and management of links.

Result

The hypothesis has been validated successfully, the service has been launched, and is successfully helping the target users solve their problems. The real user demographic post-launch: bloggers, business owners, marketers, who use the service for marketing and communication-related tasks.

By March 2019, the number of links generated through to.click has surpassed 20 million.

On average, 2 million unique visits per month through all public domains associated with the service.

A range of premium clients has implemented API integrations.
